Time Switching
Example of routing calls based on time to day or week.
Scenario
A small IT firm provides a 24/7 help line. They have two separate offices to handle calls in different time zones. If a call is missed a voicemail must be taken and an email copy forwarded to both offices.
Here's how it works
A call comes in on line +448444123456 and the Time Switch block determines where it should be routed next. If the call matches the daytime patterns set in the Time Switch Block the call is routed to the Day Shift contact, otherwise it's routed to the Night Shift contact. If either the Day Shift of the Night Shift fail to answer the call then a voicemail is collected and sent via email to all parties.
